Julie McNamara-Dahl had a phenomenal race, taking 7th in her age group and achieving her goal of breaking 3 hours. Julie finished the race with a time of 2:59:31, taking about 18 minutes off her time at Cascade's Edge. Julie has written up an excellent race report here. |
Stephen Fry, age 10, just made the jump from "Kid's Triathlons" to doing a full sprint, as he participated in the "Ready to Tri" event. This was a 1/4 mile swim, 12-mile bike and 5K run.

Jill did the entire event with Stephen, and he was able to finish the race with a solid time of 1:36:20. Stephen won his under 14 age group (he was the only participant). Stephen did a brief race report in the forum.
Also racing on Saturday was Jon Yoon, member of Seatri.org and frequent guest on the Tricoachjill forum. Here is Jon's race report.
The future of triathlons seems secure, judging by the participation and enthusiasm of the Kid's Tri event. Stephen had four cousins who participated, Hannah, Austin and Andrew Misenar, as well as Bryson Allen (not shown). They all had a great time, and Hannah captured 2nd overall for the girls.

Hannah, #611, exiting the swim on her way to capturing second place.

Andrew, getting some encouragement from a volunteer.

Austin, coming down the finish chute with his dad.
