Cascade's Edge Triathlon 2007

CASCADE'S EDGE TRIATHLON RESULTS FOR TEAM JFT2 WOW!

What a performance by Team JFT2 in this USAT Sanctioned race!  This race is part of the series for the USAT-PNW Club championship series, so the team earned points for all 9 participants.  We also get a point for each person who finishes in the top 3 of their Age Group, and that was 5 of our racers!

In the men's sprint race, David Treadwell was third out of the water.  He captured the race lead as he headed out of T2 by posting the fourth fastest bike split of the day, and by having some of the fastest transitions as well.  He did get caught in the run, but finished 2nd overall.  David was the first of 4 JFT racers to get 1st in their AG at the awards ceremony.  David was well supported at the race by wife Lynn and his son, Aiden.

Steve Duniho also raced very well and finished in the top 5 of his AG, that tough 40-44 bracket.

In the ladies Sprint, Team JFT2 was well represented by Jessie and Shannon.  Jessie is in her second season of racing, and Shannon was competing in her second sprint race, ever.  Both ladies captured first in their age groups!  Jessie posted the fastest bike split of the day, and just missed placing in the top 3 by a few seconds.  Shannon placed 7th overall with a very strong race.

In the men's Olympic race, Mark Moody was the sole Team JFT2 participant.  Mark was in the top 10 of his age group, finishing up with a strong run.

The ladies event, just like Issaquah, was dominated by Team Triumph.  Tracy Orcutt was once again the overall winner, followed by Joanna Pomykala.  Jill Fry and Jessica Cutler, who both race tor Triumph AND Team JFT2, finished 4th and 5th after posting the two fastest bike splits of the ladies event.  Jill earned a 1st place in the AG awards, and Jessica earned a 2nd place finish.

Also racing for the team were Heli Suokko (doing her first ever Olympic distance race), and Wendy Kahn (who has been struggling with a shoulder injury).  Heli placed 7th in her AG and Wendy took 13th.

Congratulations to the entire team and their support crews for braving the elements on this Father's Day race!
