Black Diamond Triathlon

Who says the end of summer means the end of tri season? Some hearty JFT2-ers welcomed the advent of Autumn (and chillier temperatures) by racing in the Black Diamond events this weekend. The course is tough, but not tough enough for JFT2: the lake was a balmy 61 degrees, the bike course had some nice rollers, and the run was characterized by uneven trails, exposed stones and (in the case of the Oly) some misdirection and extra mileage – is that the best you could come up with, Enumclaw?
Greg Taylor raced in the Sprint on Sunday, finishing with a rock solid 1:21 to put him 9th in his AG in his third triathlon ever! Blake, Char Popp, Heli Suokko, Jason Popp and Michael Hornvendt tackled the Oly on Sunday – despite some misguided volunteers who caused Blake, Jason and Michael to run an extra 1.4 hilly miles (!), everyone had strong races and a great capstone to the 2007 season:
